The Project
Welcome Rock is the brainchild of fourth generation Southland sheep and cattle grazier, Tom O’Brien.
In a move towards a more sustainable business he turned from farming to adventure tourism. Working with the Department of Conservation, he built a network of cycle and walking trails utilising historic water races and buildings dating back to the Central Otago gold rush.
We were engaged to photograph the landscapes and document the build, with the images used in social media marketing for the project.
What we delivered
The images were shot on two separate occasions. One with a group of willing cyclists and the second, on a frosty morning as the work gang got going for the day.
We delivered a series of images that were important for documenting the beginnings of the enterprise as well as being used to create social media posts around progress of the tracks’ build.
